Want to up the gradient?
Take on those drops and slabs?
We will cover the essential skills for tackling steep white water and provide you with the tactics and techniques to push yourself to the next level. When paddling steep and difficult white water you will need to be able to make quick decisions, read the water well and drive your boat around aggressively.
On this course we will focus on these aspects. With a wide choice of the North's rivers on our doorstep, we are spoilt for choice for venues to work on. An ideal candidate for the course would be happy with their flat water roll, feel confident and in control on moderate (grade2/3) water and wish to develop the skills necessary for more advanced rivers.
The two days will be spent improving your technique on steeper rapids and drops. The focus will be on fundamental creeking skills, covering line choice, posture, timing, driving the boat around the river and investigate the most modern techniques around boofs and flares.
Take the opportunity to push your boating up a notch and start charging! |
