British Canoeing Awarding Body
Performance Awards
From January 2019 British Canoeing 2 and 3 Star Awards were replaced with Personal Performance Awards. These new Personal Performance Awards are no longer directly linked to the Coaching or Leadership Awards. They are designed for paddlers wanting to gain recognition of their learning and development, in the craft and environment they choose. There are no dual discipline awards and all of the awards are direct entry.
Although not pre-requisites, these awards provide appropriate ackowledgment of personal skills for paddlers wanting to attend coaching and leadership qualifications. Acheiving these awards ahead of the relevant qualification will enable you to focus on the course content, rather than being concerned with your personal skills.
The changes do not affect current Star Award holders. Any Star Awards taken with British Canoeing will remain recognised.
If you cannot find the course you want at a time that suits please contact us and we will try to meet your needs.
