The Lake District has some of the finest canoe paddling in the country. On our advanced white water canoe courses we will use these perfect venues to develop your white water technique.
Some the topics we will help you explore are:
- Detailed river reading to support good decision making on harder rapids.
- Precise use of river features to play the white water environment.
- Precise blade work to improve your boat control.
- Simple safety set up for paddling with friends.
Venues
On the course we will use two different rivers which could be:
- River Eden from Lazonby to Armathwaite often provides high volume training opportunities.
- River Lune can give technical precise options.
- River Leven gives classic grade 2/3 white water in the upper section with the lower providing a stiffer challenge.
- The River Irthing and Keswick Greta give continuous white water for the right group at the right level.
These courses are run on small ratios and so are designed to meet the needs of the individual. Prior to booking we would have a phone conversation to decide what you want from the course. During the course your performance would be analysed and feedback given as appropriate. We guarantee that you will leave the course with a deeper understanding of the art of white water canoe paddling and with clear action points for your development.
