This training course is open to a huge range of people. It is designed to give you the underpinning knowledge necessary to coach in a range of different environments. It can be used as the prerequisite for assessments or is an excellent standalone training course that develops coaching knowledge.

- Club coaches who have been helping club members and want to develop their coaching ability.
- Teachers, lecturers and tutors in education who are working with students in a developmental way.
- Experienced instructors who have delivered a season of group sessions and want to continue their professional development.
- Coaches with a range of qualifications and experience who want to continue their development and update their knowledge.

This course will look at:
- How to create greater long term learning by giving control of the learning to the students.
- Selecting the appropriate delivery method for the student, environment and outcome.
- The importance of practice structures.
- Managing feedback in a variety of ways.
- Creating the best learning environment for your students.
- Developing decision making in our students paddling as well as our coaching.
- Using reflective practice to aid longterm learning.
Duration 2 days
Staff to student ratios 1 tutor to 6 students or 2 tutors to 12 students. Please note there is a minimum number of students of 4. This has been set by Paddle UK.

On this course you will have the opportunity to use our fleet of Dagger white water kayaks; a range of high quality VE canoe and kayak paddles; our fleet of Royalex canoes; a variety of sea kayaks and touring boats, including Wllderness Systems sea kayaks.

Pre-requisites
Full home nation association membership (Paddle England, Paddle Scotland, Canoe Wales, Paddle Northern Ireland).
You will also need a base level of knowledge about the discipline(s) you wish to coach.
