Leadership Awards

The paddlesport leader award is aimed at paddlers taking on formal leadership responsibilities in sheltered water environments and aims to support Leaders to run safe, quality, enjoyable trips based on their group’s needs and aspirations.

Paddlesport touring leaders can lead participants on trips in large pieces of open water and easy white water rivers. This is the perfect leadership award for experienced leaders who operate on the larger lakes of Cumbria and on simple white water rivers.

A canoe open water leader will be running trips on windy days on large lakes. They will take groups on great sailing journeys or exciting open water crossings in canoe.

A canoe white water leader can take participants on epic white water journeys. They inspire lead groups on amazing days out in the white water environment.

A white water kayak leader can take participants on epic white water journeys. They inspire groups on amazing days out in the white water environment.

A sea kayak leader will be running trips on the sea. They will take groups on inspirational journeys along many amazing coastal venues, with the possibility to make some short crossings, either single or nulti-day trips.

This course looks at leadership of small groups in open canoes in advanced conditions. You will operate in windy conditions above force 4 and on grade three white water.

Leading paddlers in advanced white water is the best job around. Advanced white water kayak leaders can take people into some of the best white water locations.
