What our clients say...

"Really enjoyable expedition."

"All information given was clear. Sean was very friendly and personable. It would have been interesting to have more advanced tandem techniques introduced. Overall very happy."

"Brilliant fun. Learnt some new stuff on moving water and didn’t capsize – Great! Not just paddling – a campfire cookery course too!"

"Good fun, love exped. Nice coaching skills at start of trip – really helped my arms ache less. Lovely thanks! I would use Wild River for future paddlesports qualifications – I’m on the mailing list."

"Sean has a fantastic sense of humour and is a brilliant coach. He went over some stuff I already knew, but a lot of new stuff taught in a fun manner."

"Loved it! Individual needs were catered for very well, especially good as there were so many people."

Good 1 to 1 guidance at level we all paddle at. Made fully aware of all aspects of what to do. Excellently led, learnt a lot and progressed more each day. Given good advice all over for both paddling and camping.

Below is a selection of classic multi day trips in Scotland.

Classic Great Glen Expedition

Pics of sailing and open water

Loch Tay and River Tay

The River Tay flows out of the sixth largest loch in Scotland .It offers great canoe paddling at around grade two. There is the opportunity to use a wide range of skills to journey from Loch Tay to Perth so 75 km down river.

Below is a sample itinerary put together for a group of sea paddlers from the Isle of Man who wanted a canoe expedition in Scotland.

Day one

  • Meet and sort logistics. Decide which way round to go
  • Travel to either Inverness or Fortwilliam
  • Shuttle, packing and getting boats ready
  • Shop for food if necessary in Tesco in Glasgow or elsewhere
  • Perhaps start the trip if not start early next morning

Day 2-5
Journey to other end wild camping or using some campsites as appropriate.

  • Hopefully paddling some grade 2 rivers.
  • Sailing with the wind on big lochs
  • Some portaging of locks
  • Wild camping and general sitting around fires talking rubbish and drinking stuff

Day 6
Short last stretch of whatever river, perhaps with empty canoes.
